Saving Project...

Site work for a water / sewer project in Hoonah, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Hoonah (City) has begun the process of replacing the existing lift station pumps at the Blue Warehouse Lift Station with new and has purchased and received the following submersible pump system/equipment from Alaska Roteq Corporation: o Two ABS XFP 100E-CB1.3 PE105/4 14 HP pump 460V. Part No.: GX6J3K3C1111321 o Two 4-inch guide rail system w/ integral elbow, single rail o Two 304 SS hardware kit, 15-foot stainless steel chain o Two CA462 seal leak and over temp relay 24VDC o One 15HP Seewater Inc Parabola VFD / transducer control panel (10 psi level transducer with backup floats, intrinsically safe relays, seal failure and temperature monitoring, and phase monitor). This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified Mechanical/Electrical, General Contractors for installation and commissioning/startup of the Owner (City) furnished pump system/equipment into the Blue Warehouse Lift Station wet well, furnishing and installing required piping, equipment, and electrical and controls, including integration of the new systems with the existing infrastructure. The work will require coordination with the City to operate and shut down the lift station, installation of temporary equipment for lift station bypass pumping, dewater and clean the wet well, modifications to the existing wet well to accommodate the required hatch, installation of the rail, pump, piping and controls, and restarting pumping operations. The Blue Warehouse Lift Station currently operates with two suction lift pumps installed in a dry pit sump, adjacent to the lift station wet well. The wet well is fed from an upstream manhole and the pumps deliver the sewage to MH 2-5, approximately halfway between the lift station and the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) (See Figure 1 and Figure 2 below). The existing pumps are to be removed from service and to be replaced with the City furnished submersible pumps and equipment (cut sheets and submittals Attached). There are no current record drawings of the lift station. Photos are included following the narrative to show existing conditions. The selected contractor will work with the City to develop a plan to bypass and reroute sewage around the wet well for the time needed to complete the demolition of existing infrastructure and installation of new equipment and infrastructure. The City owns two Vactor trucks that can be used to pump sewage from the upstream manhole C4 (shown in Figure 1) and truck haul the sewage to a downstream manhole (MH 2-5 as shown in Figure 2) for short durations. Due to the continuous efforts required for this type of diversion, this is only an option for short durations (less than 8 hours). For longer durations, a pump around alternative will likely be required.
