The MEP Subcontractor scope of work is identical to the General Prime Contractor scope of work included in these bidding and contract documents. By submitting and signing a bid, all bidders have examined all of the Bidding Documents listed in the Table of Contents of the project specifications. The successful bidders will be required to do all work which is shown on the drawings, mentioned in the specifications, or reasonably implied as necessary to complete the division of work bid for this project. All potential bidders must be certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $50,000. All bids received from contractors who are not certified will be rejected. In general the work consists of of abatement and demolition of the existing Hagestad building, work at the existing chiller plant, a new 3-story Science and Technology Innovation Center and associated site work, housing teaching labs, research labs, offices, non-classroom learning spaces, and a University-Business 42 Collaboration Center (UBC) of approximately 132,400 square feet (square footage includes a Mechanical Penthouse). Base Bids will be received as follows: A single lump sum bid for All Work. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsins prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements.
