Introduction: The Public Works Department, Airport Division seeks to obtain a 2-year contract for painting services. This contract would have the possibility of two 1-year extensions. Contractor Responsibilities: Contractor is to provide the labor, needed materials and equipment for any painting project located on Airport property. Contractor is to adhere to all Airport safety protocols as well as follow all federal, state and local guidelines. City Responsibilities: The Airport will coordinate with their tenants to cover and/or remove any personal belongings, cars, aircraft etc. The Airport will provide access to the airfield as well as detailed instruction for path of travel to and from the specific jobsite. Typical Type of Projects: Painting of Airport facilities, primarily aircraft storage hangars. Aircraft storage hangars are galvanized steel siding with metal framing. These structures will require initial cleaning, rust treatment, priming and multiple coats of paint. There could potentially be other standard building type projects, if funds are available. Schedule: The contractor is to coordinate the project schedule with the Airport Manager. Contractor must give a minimum of two weeks' advanced notice prior to start of project for the Airport to coordinate with their tenants. Any changes to the schedule once the project has begun, must be coordinated, and approved through the Airport Manager. When the project begins the contractor is to remain onsite until the completion of the project unless arrangements have been made and approval is granted by the Airport Manager. Project Completion Criteria: All project materials, masking and debris must be removed by the contractor. Job must be walked with the Airport Manager and Project Foreman for final inspection prior to acceptance of project completion. Additional Terms and Conditions: Rust treatment must be guaranteed for a minimum of 1 year. If rust returns within this timeframe, the contractor, at their expense, must retreat the rusted areas, prime and paint.
