Bids are invited upon the items and quantities of work as follows, and other miscellaneous items of work: Water Main Upgrades Bidders are strongly encouraged to register online as a Prime Bidder or Sub-Contractor to ensure timely receipt of bidding documents and notices relative to this bid and be listed as a plan holder. The Owner and Engineer are NOT responsible for any incompleteness of bidding documents made available from sources other than Architect. Printing and shipping fees for hard copies are the responsibility of the Contractor. There is no charge for bidding documents provided in Adobe PDF format. Technical questions regarding interpretations of the bidding documents shall be directed to Geoffrey Thompson, P.E. of Klingner & Associates PC at 217-223-3670, gthompson@klingner.com , NOT City Blue Technologies A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Village of Clayton, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Village of Clayton reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Village of Clayton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The Work consists of the following: 1. The work will be split into four separate schedules of values: Base Bid, Additive Alternates 1, 2, & 3. The Project Plan Sheets detail what schedule of values apply to it. The work includes installation of 6" & 4" SDR-21 water mains by way of both open trenching and directional boring. Work includes all required appurtenances, abandonments, connections to existing, service connections, and restoration (excluding seeding, which will be completed by the Owner).
