Renovation of an educational facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The University of Louisville Department of Procurement Services, on behalf of the Physical Plant Department (PPD), will receive bids from a qualified contractor for the School of Music Comstock Lighting Upgrade, located on the University of Louisville's Belknap Campus. The awarded bidder shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, required permits (if any), and supervision required to complete the installation of new specialty lighting, rigging, and control systems at Comstock Hall as described in Exhibit A (Drawings and Specifications). SCOPE OF WORK 1) Contractor shall include a complete bid that includes all repairs to walls and ceiling, if any, and match existing finishes. 2) Contractor shall include all modifications to existing cloud structure, if any, to accommodate new fixtures per the technical specifications - Exhibit A. a) Contractor to provided sealed/stamped drawings 3) Contractor is responsible for Electrical Contractor and associated scope indicated in the Electrical Scope indicated in the Comstock Responsibility Matrix a) Motorized Rigging i) Install (2) One, Quick Touch Preset 8 Controller with Custom Mounting Plate-Supplied by System Integrator ii) Supply and Install (4) Sets of control wires, Cat5e iii) Terminate Line Voltage (4) Fix speed motor starter box, for a 3 hp motor, max. Extend conduit and wiring of the motor starters and curtain motor from existing motor circuits iv) Terminate Line Voltage (2) Power Reels Gleason S241001-163-12-1, 50' 12/7 Spring Lift Cable. Extend conduit and wiring to power control distribution as required. b) Architectural Light Controls i) Supply and Install (4) Net Wire, Cat5e 4) Contractor shall be responsible for protection of existing structures and space throughout the construction process. Care shall be taken to preserve the existing finishes - such as flooring, stage, staging, structure, and seating - to turn over to the University in the same condition it was in prior to construction. Contractor is solely responsible for dust control during the construction process and shall include steps to prevent or adequately clean any dust generated during their work. 5) Contractor shall be responsible for temporary storage of any materials or equipment as well as off-site disposal of any rubbish during the construction process. The Contractor shall preserve all fixtures removed during the construction process. The Contractor shall attach fixtures to an existing railing in the University-designated location within the School of Music. The University will not provide temporary storage or disposal of any other materials or equipment. 6) Contractor shall include a complete proposal that includes all repairs to walls and ceiling, if any, and match existing finishes. 7) Contractor shall include all modifications to existing cloud structure, if any, to accommodate new fixtures per the technical specifications included with this RFP. Note, there will be HVAC upgrades going on in the building during this time. Be mindful that the space may not be climate controlled during the construction timeframe and there will be other contractors working in the building, though not in Comstock Hall. The University will handle asbestos testing and remediation (if required). Vendors requesting clarifications to this Invitation to Bid may submit in writing questions for official response by the University.
