The goal of this project is to repair existing building envelope and weather stripping deficiencies to make the building more Energy Efficient, make the building more airtight, and improve the comfort of the buildings for occupants. Refer to Appendix B for scope of work. The contractor to focus on upgrading or replacing certain elements of the building envelope such as: - Repairing caulking for windows. Note that all existing caulking must be assumed to contain hazardous substance, the Proponent must refer to attached 02 82 00.01 Asbestos Abatement - Low-Risk Precautions Spec Section and complete abatement per specifications and current best practices. - For external doors: weather stripping, door sweeps, gaskets and other appropriate seals will be installed. Doors to be replaced/repaired as per the attached CFB Halifax G5 Scoring sheet. Pricing sheet to be filled out by proponent. - Repairs to building penetrations such as electrical conduit penetration, HVAC piping penetration to improve thermal performance. Note that any existing caulking removal is to be treated as HAZMAT, so Proponents are to include this cost in their pricing.
