Renovation of a mixed-use development in Urbana, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and 1,760-square-foot laboratory facility.

Renovation of Rooms 311 and 315 (approximately 1,760 SF) in Noyes Laboratory for the Biotechnology Centers Protein Sciences Facility (PSF) which provides proteomics services including customized sample preparation, protein identification, detection of post-translational modifications, isotopic quantitation and intact protein characterization. Existing equipment includes 3 state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometers and a number of fume hoods. Testing within the PSF requires a highly controlled temperature environment, not currently provided by the existing HVAC system. The renovation scope includes: General (New windows, modification of casework to support the program, new finishes including new flooring and ceilings, new structural framing to support new AHU), Mechanical (New AHU, replacement of perimeter steam radiation system, new fume hood exhaust system including new point of use exhaust, new gas closet for a nitrogen generator and gas cylinders), Electrical (New lighting, new electrical to support equipment), Plumbing (New safety showers and floor drains and emergency eyewash stations), Fire Protection (Existing sprinkler system to remain with minor modifications).
