Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Urbana, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
**As of April 17, 2023, this project has been awarded to Stark Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $1,898,842.40. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty as provided in Check Sheet LRS6 "Special Provision for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals" prepared by the Department of Transportation. Structural steel shall only be painted for a distance equal to the depth of embedment into the concrete cap plus 3 in. Painted areas shall be primed in the shop with a Department approved zinc rich primer. Field painting will not be required. If the Contractor elects to use cantilever forming brackets on the exterior beams or girders, the brackets shall be placed at the same locations as required for the hardwood blocks in Article 503.06(b) of the Standard Specifications. If additional cantilever forming brackets are required, hardwood blocking shall be wedged between the exterior and first interior beam at each of these additional bracket locations. Proposed Improvement Bridge removal and replacement and associated roadway work.
