The Municipal District of Smoky River (the MD) maintains a gravel source and trucking fleet to deliver that gravel to the roadways and projects within the municipality. Where private producers of aggregate may also be available it is desired to include this option for completing work as efficiently as possible. As such, the MD requests proposals from Contractors for the supply of gravel/rock riprap/heavy rock riprap and supply of gravel/rock including delivery over the next few years. The projects may include roadway maintenance, road gravel application, culvert installation, placement of rip-rap, gravel aprons and other related work. This opportunity is to be used to select one or more Contractors for one or more packages of work for the 2023-2025 MD programs based on their evaluated scores and having the gravel, rock, equipment and labour suitable for each package of work. Contractors who produce or market aggregate/rock and those who produce these materials and can deliver them within the MD are asked to provide information regarding the materials available within the term of the agreement, whether they would be performing the hauling and whether the material was, or will be, produced to meet the requirements of the Standard Specifications for Highway Construction Edition 16 2019 and Standard Specifications for Bridge Construction Edition 17 2020 (Standards), and include a sieve analysis or class if available. Materials of specific interest include Designation 4 aggregate, Designation 6 Aggregate, gabion rock, riprap and heavy rock riprap.
