1. Introduction and General Information. The City of Palo Alto Fire Department ("Fire Department") has a requirement to inspect and report on the condition of 3,205 fire hydrants within the City of Palo Alto. 2. Task Description. Inspection data will be entered into the City created ArcGis Application. Inspection criteria are pursuant to National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA") 25 and ISO 631 and include: 1. Condition of hydrant paint 2. Condition of hydrant valves 3. Condition of seals on hydrant caps 4. Note that stem height meets standard (18" above grade) 5. Note that vegetation will need to be cleared 3 feet around hydrant 6.
