RFQ Contact: Jen Smith jen.m.smith@oregon.gov Requested Availability Date: Work must be completed by April 01, 2023 Description: Fire Main Shut-off Valve Repair at OLCC Milport Facility 1777 SE Milport Rd, Milwaukie, OR 97222 The OLCC Milport facility has 1 failed 8" fire valve that is located in a small underground vault at the back of the property. The valve failed in the open position. o Project involves replacing one failed 8" Kennedy fire main shut off valve. The Yolk nut is broken. o Valve is located in a small underground vault and is part of a two-valve double-check fire line manifold. o Contractor doing the work must be licensed to do this type of work and have expert knowledge of underground fire piping. o Contractor will be responsible for all permits, fees, and inspections if applicable. o Contractor will be responsible for all lawn damage resulting in the repair-work and should calculate this cost into their bid. The vault is located approximately 300' from the pavement. o Contractor must insure that the fire system is back online in the same day as the repair work to prevent fire watch protocols from being implemented. o Contractor will not set up any equipment that interferes with regular OLCC operations. o 1 year workmanship guarantee is required on this project. o Contractor to provide all parts and labor to complete this project to the satisfaction of OLCC. o The work schedule must be approved by OLCC Facilities staff prior to start. o On-site work must be done on a Monday or Tuesday. o All work must be completed by April 01, 2023. o Since work is in an underground vault, appropriate underground protocol must be followed. o May require vault pumping before entry. o Fire system will be put in test and drained if needed by Contractor. o Manifold must be supported in place before failed valve is removed. o If excavating outside the vault is required to gain access to pipes, Contractor will perform the digging. o If existing vault is damaged by Contractor, Contractor must repair the new damages. o All mating surfaces must be cleaned prior to installation of new valve to insure leak free connections. o Immediately after the valve is installed (or rebuilt) and pressurized, OLCC will verify all connections and valve are leak free. o Once project is determined to be leak free, jobsite will be cleaned up and all lawn damage repaired by Contractor. o Contractor responsible to put fire system back online
