The Town of Fairfield (Town) on behalf of the Department of Public Works (DPW)is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary to supply and install new steel roll up overhead doors at the Fairfield Transfer Station Facility. Copies will not be made available at the meeting, nor will they be faxed out. All requests for information will be answered in writing as specified below under Addenda. Written requests for information will not be accepted after 11:00am on Wednesday, 1st March, 2023. Verbal requests for information via phone or other means will not be accepted. Failure to comply with these conditions will result in the bidder waiving the right to dispute bid specifications and conditions, no exceptions. Questions concerning this bid must be submitted in writing and directed only to: Pru O'Brien, Junior Buyer pobrien@fairfieldct.org Scope of Work Supply and installation of seven (7) new steel roll-up overhead doors. Contractors are expected to measure the existing openings and to confirm new equipment requirements. The successful Contractor is responsible for the removal of old and installation of new overhead rolling doors and all required operating components. Supply and install appropriately colored weather stripping. All doors shall be of steel or aluminum construction. All hardware and components will be new. Electronic door control shall be installed inside the door where existing buttons are located. Electrical work shall be done by the Town of Fairfield and shall not be included in pricing. All required State and local permits are the responsibility of the contractor. All permit fees will be waived with the exception of the State Education Fee.
