Sandblast and Paint Main Hangar and Terminal Building Pekin Municipal Airport The City of Pekin is seeking qualified contractors to submit proposals to sandblast and paint the main hangar and terminal building located at Pekin Municipal Airport. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Sandblast, Prime, and Paint apply approx. 6,500 Square Ft of Minimum hangar wall panels. This is a complete repainting on the main hanger (aside from hangar doors). B. Sandblast, Prime and paint the main Terminal building steel surfaces to include the entryway awnings - Color Sherwin Williams Sher-Cryl white
C. Paint all associated trim on hangar and terminal. Color-Red to match electrical vault roof.
D. Sandblasting of the exterior surface will remove all old paint coatings and rust to ensure a clean surface for new primer and paint.
E. During sandblasting the interior of the buildings will be pressurized to minimize dust penetration of the building.
F. Miscellaneous electrical items such as cameras, lights and building signage are to be properly taped off and trimmed and shall not have overspray on them.
G. All equipment costs shall be included.
H. Access to water and electric will be provided, any specialized wiring for equipment to be provided by contractor. Any changes to existing electrical shall be reverted to original condition at completion of project.
I. Remove large Pekin airport sign above south door and LEAVE OFF. Any holes uncovered or created in removal of sign shall be patched including screw holes.
J. Disposal, dumpster (if necessary) and cleanup must be included.
K. Work shall take place during first shift, Monday through Friday weather permitting. NO overtime charges will be accepted. Work can take place on Saturdays to make up for weather.
L. Wind an weather shall be taken into consideration when applying paint or sandblasting as to not effect transient aircraft parked on the airport ramp area or cars parked in the parking lot. The manager will coordinate with patrons and tenants to minimize this effect. The airport will attempt to park any ramp aircraft on the west end of the ramp and will issue a NOTAM for transient aircraft that painting and sandblasting will be ongoing.
M. The contractor shall provide the city with an estimated project length and start date if awarded a bid.
N. Alternate 1 - Include Sandblast, prime, and paint the north and south walls of the T-Hangars
