Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Barre, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The bid amount indicated in the bid tabulation is per unit. SCOPE OF THE WORK The scope of work for this contract is paver placed materials at street OR sidewalk width. The work falls into three categories: 1. Pavement overlays up to 1.5 inches thick with sufficient shim to cause surface drainage OR 2. Finish grading gravel base subbase with placement of 2 lifts of hot mix or warm mix asphalt at the depth specified installed in accordance with the VT Agency of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction OR 3. A single lift sidewalk placement approximately 66 inches in width with a depth specific to the segments described. This offering requires submission of an optional bid item including virgin asphalt wearing course hot or warm mix on all streets segment pavement. All bidders must comply with the General Conditions for this work. The City of Barre may expand the list of projects to be completed during the timeframe of this contract. The selected Contractor will have the first opportunity to accept new work during this timeframe, but the City of Barre reserves the right to hire other contractors should the selected Contractor not be able or willing to take on additional work not listed in this bid. The City of Barre is requesting proposals for a 2-year paving contract for pavement overlays and replacements. The contract will be for work to be completed in 2023 and 2024. Additional work beyond the projects listed in the RFP may be available based on available resources, and the selected contractor will be the first to be offered additional projects.
