Work to be performed under this project includes fine-milling and resurfacing the existing highway, guardrail improvements, traffic signal and intersection improvements, pavement markings, and other related highway items. Beginning on vt route 104 in the town of fairfax at mm 6.859 and extending northerly along vt route 104 for a distance of approximately 11.648 miles (61,501.44 ft) through the town of georgia and fairfield to mm 4.081 in the town of st. Albans. Also beginning on the st. Albans state highway in the city of st. Albans at mm 0.005 and extending easterly for a distance of approximately 1.044 miles (5,515.32 ft) to mm 0.990 in the town of st. Albans. Electronic bid bond to be submitted in the amount of 5% of the Contractor's bid. ENGINEERs ESTIMATE: For this proposal the Engineers Estimate is Category E. During the advertisement period, all questions shall be addressed solely to the Office of Contract Administration via email: AOT.ConstructionContractingInquiry@vermont.gov. All inquiries must be received by 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 03, 2023. The work to be performed under this Contract shall be in accordance with the 2018 Standard Specifications for Construction, as modified. The Standard Specifications are available on the Vermont Agency of Transportation website. Liquidated damages in the amount of 20% of the applicable Contract Daily Charge Per Day of Delay in accordance with Subsection 108.12(b) will be assessed for each working day following October 15, 2023, that the specified work is not completed. These liquidated damages are separate from, and will be imposed in addition to, liquidated damages which may be imposed for failure to complete the Contract on time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
