CONSTRUCTION MEETINGS PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING Before work commences on the project, the Engineer will schedule and hold a Preconstruction Meeting. It will be the Contractors duty to invite the Contractors competent superintendent (who shall be familiar with all phases) and the supervisors for any and all subcontractors shall attend this meeting. The Engineer will invite the Public Works Department Utilities Division, Fire and Police Departments, and others deemed necessary will also be invited to attend. A schedule of construction activities shall be discussed at this meeting and shall be agreed upon by all involved. The Contractor shall not hold the City responsible for any added expenses due to alteration of the Contractors proposed schedules to meet the needs of the City or the utilities. If the Engineer deems it necessary, there will also be a preconstruction conference with each subcontractor at least two working days prior to the start of work by the subcontractor. Normally included in the agenda items for the Preconstruction Meeting are the following subjects: Project schedule proposed by Contractor Competent superintendent and competent person designation Traffic control plans of Contractor Shop Drawings Vibration Monitoring Plan Haul routes proposed by Contractor Disposal sites proposed by Contractor Erosion control plans of Contractor Inspection and Testing of materials to be used on the project.
