The principal work to be performed under this contract consists of, but not limited to improvement of the following: Forest Hill Drive Drainage Improvements 570 LF Curb & Gutter 100 LF Concrete Ditch 30 SF Sidewalk One (1) Concrete Residential Entrance (VDOT CG-9D) 625 SY Asphalt One (1) Storm Manhole One (1) Concrete Endwall One (1) 8' - VDOT Drop Inlet 3B One (1) Modified VDOT Drop Inlet 1 30 LF of 15" Storm Sewer 20 LF of 18" Storm Sewer 365 LF of 30" Storm Sewer 35 LF of 8" Waterline Replacement w/ fixtures 25 LF of 6" Waterline Replacement w/ fixtures. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be based on a unit price items, as indicated in the Bid Form. The Engineer for this project is B&B Consultants, Inc. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is B & B Consultants, Inc., 212 East Ferrell Street, South Hill, VA 23970. The contact person is Randy Jones, 434-447-7621, rjones@bandbcons.com. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:15 am -5:00 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. Bidding Documents may also be examined at the Town of South Hill 211 S. Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, Virginia 23970, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Town nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions for Bidders. A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Contractors, pursuant to Chapter 7 of Title 54 of the Code of Virginia, must be submitted with each bid. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received, to negotiate with the low bidder, and/or to re-advertise the project for bids.
