I-8, North Frontage Road, Ave 10E to Fortuna Road, CIP No. 1.1302 and Los Amigos and Southern Sands Drainage & Pavement Improvements, CIP No. 1.1901 and No. 3.1902 Each bid must be submitted in accordance with the Project's Proposal Pamphlet and on the forms provided therein including, the non-collusion affidavit and a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the total amount of the bid. The proposed work is located at I-8, North Frontage Road, Ave 10E to Fortuna Road and along Avenida Compadres including in the Los Amigos and Southern Sands Subdivisions. The work consists of, but is not limited to roadway excavation, retention basins, storm drain system, paving, curb & gutter, sidewalks, signing and striping The amount programmed for the base bid is $6,200,000. The project shall be complete and in place within 305 calendar days. All bids must be in a sealed envelope and plainly marked: "I-8, North Frontage Road, Ave 10E to Fortuna Road, CIP No. 1.1302 and Los Amigos and Southern Sands Drainage and Pavement Improvements, CIP No. 1.1901 and 3.1902". The proposed work is located on the I-8, North Frontage Road, Ave 10E to Fortuna Road and along Avenida Compadres including in the Los Amigos and Southern Sands Subdivisions. (Section 6, T09S, R21W) GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A brief description of the work to be performed includes: I-8 North Frontage Road, Ave. 10E to Fortuna Road - o Remove the existing rural 2-lane road and reconstruct to a 3-lane road, with curb, sidewalk, and bicycle lanes on both sides of the new roadway. o Install a wide shoulder along the south side of the new roadway, add dedicated right and left turn bays at all intersecting streets, and a center left turn bay for all driveway access points. o Install a storm drain system with one new detention basin and enlarge an existing basin. o This project has acquired the full right-of-way width to accommodate the future urban 5-lane road section. Los Amigos and Southern Sands Drainage and Pavement Improvements - o Install a storm drain system along Avenida Compadres, which provides flood relief for both subdivisions, and outfalls into the new detention basin being constructed on the North Frontage Road project. o Pavement improvements include removing the existing asphalt surfacing and ABC base and replacing it with 3" of A/C pavement and 8" of ABC base on Avenida Compadres, 3" of A/C pavement and 6" of ABC on all roads in the Southern Sands subdivision and 2 1/2 " of AC pavement and 6" of ABC base in the Los Amigos subdivision. South Frontage Road Median and Bullnose Improvements - o These improvements are on the South Frontage Road at a driveway immediately west of Fortuna Road. o Improvements include removing the existing flexible traffic delineator posts and replacing them with curbs and a red stamped concrete safety median in the center of the South Frontage Road. Also included is a right-in right-out concrete island, signing, and thermoplastic striping. Fortuna Road Median Safety Improvements o Extend the existing six-foot wide concrete median on Fortuna Road south for 190 feet to East 34th Place. o Improvements include removing the existing flexible traffic delineator posts and replacing them with curbs and a red stamped concrete safety median in the center of Fortuna Road.
