Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Matheson Island, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The pony wall under the building has deteriorated and must be replaced. Excavation will be necessary to expose the 2 ft. pony wall. All work must be done in accordance with the engineering drawings and any and all building codes and necessary permits. Temporary beams and supports must be in place to allow for demolition and construction of the foundation pony wall. A new roof must be installed. The existing metal cladding is of good quality and consistency and must be re-used. New engineered rafters, insulation, ceiling gyproc, new electrical wiring and all other materials must be installed. All earthworks will be sloped away from the building to provide proper drainage. The community of Matheson Island is situated on the island of the same name, near the Narrows of Lake Winnipeg. An internal road runs the length of the island, starting from the ferry landing. The ferry connects to PR #234 and an all-weather road with PTH #8, just north of Riverton. Winnipeg is 224 south of Matheson Island.
