For Bid CY23 Water Main Contract #2 The work under this contract includes but is not limited to the removal of 19,240 feet of 6-inch to 12-inch unlined cast iron water main, installation of 19,240 feet of 8-inch to 12-inch cement lined ductile iron water main, furnishing and installing related gate valves, hydrants, and appurtenances ranging in size from 6-inch to 12-inch, and all materials, equipment, services and construction inherent to the work. Cleaning and lining of 6- to 20-inch-diameter sized water main are as alternate bid items. The Work shall be substantially complete by November 1, 2023. All Work shall be ready for final payment by November 15, 2023. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total value of the Bid in the form of a Bid bond or certified/treasurer's check. The bidding and award of this Contract shall be in full compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M, as last revised, all Federal, State and City of Quincy regulations when applicable in relation to Minority Business Enterprise, Women's Business Enterprise, Minority Work Force, Equal Employment Opportunity, and subject to the minimum wage rates set under the Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Law Chapter 149, 26 to 27H and/or any applicable federal rates. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids when such an action is deemed in the best interests of the City.
