**As of April 28, 2023, this project has been awarded to Topkote Inc., for $1.8224/sq yd For price per square yard of 45,000 sq yards, more or less, of seal coating. All bids should use the following specifications when submitting a bid for this project: MC800 Oil (or equivalent) should be used, .3 gal per square yard, and 30# pea rock per square yard. All work to be completed by September 1, 2023. The contractor shall pay the sum of $100.00 per day for each day that the project is not completed beyond the project completion date as provided for herein. The assessment of liquidated damages for failure to complete the work within the contract period shall not constitute a waiver of the contracting authority's right to collect any additional damages which the contracting authority may sustain by failure of the contractor to carry out the terms of his contract. The damages stipulated above are to be deducted from any monies due to contractor as liquidated damages for the loss to the grantee. All bids must be accompanied either by a certified check, cashier's check or bank draft payable to the City of Arlington, South Dakota, in the amount of five per cent (5%) of the total sum of the bid, drawn on a State or National Bank, or by a bid bond in an amount of ten per cent (10%) of the total bid issued by a Surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota, said bond to be made payable to the City of Arlington, South Dakota. The City Council of Arlington, South Dakota reserves the right to reject any and all bids received.
