Demolition and site work for a residential development in Alton, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.

Demolition per the Attached Specifications for the Following: 1130 Harrison Street $ Asbestos removed by AC Environmental 2126 Seminary Street No ACM was found at the Site This is a Prevailing Wage Project Any questions regarding this bid should be directed to Lori Bockholdt, Comptrollers Office, City of Alton (618) 463-3545. Copies of the Asbestos Abatement report(s) will be provided upon request. The City cannot accept your bid response via fax. The City of Alton, Illinois invites sealed bids for the demolition of buildings in accordance with the provisions, specifications, and bidding instructions set forth in this Invitation for Bid. Each sealed envelope containing a response must be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope with the respondent name, proper address, and BID #2023 - 11 Demolition. All responses must be made on the forms provided. All blank spaces must be filled in, in ink or typewritten, and the bid forms must be fully completed and executed and signed by an authorized individual. Any questions regarding this bid should be directed to Lori Bockholdt, Comptroller's Office, City of Alton (618) 463-3545. Copies of the Asbestos Abatement report(s) will be provided upon request. The City cannot accept your bid response via fax. Each written request must contain a self-addressed, stamped envelope and must reference the bid title and number. Contractor shall guarantee, in writing, that all work conforms to the requirements of the specifications. Award of contract will be made on the most advantageous bid, on a quality versus price basis, taking into consideration the responsibility of the Contractor, as interpreted by the City Council. Award of contract will not be made on an "all or nothing" basis but will be awarded per address (unless otherwise indicated). Proper consideration will be given to modern accepted practice, efficiency and workmanship. No award will be made for any service which does not adequately fulfill the requirements of the project. If services offered differ from the provisions contained in the specifications, such differences must be explained in detail (see Exception Certificate). The City of Alton reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids, or any part thereof, on any basis and without disclosure of a reason. The failure to make such a disclosure shall not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any unsuccessful bidder against the City of Alton, Illinois. The City further reserves the right to accept any bid or any part thereof, or to waive any informalities and to make an award in its best interest. All paperwork (i.e., certificate of insurance and signed contract, etc.) must be received and in order before work may begin on project. Failure to do so could result in disqualification of the bidder. The contractor/subcontractor agrees, in performance of this contract, to observe and comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The contractor/subcontractor agrees to indemnify and hold the City of Alton, Illinois harmless for, or and from, any loss, including but not limited to any fines, penalties and corrective measures the City of Alton, Illinois may sustain by reason of contractor/subcontractor's failure to comply with said laws, rules and regulations in connection with the performance of said contract. All work that is unsatisfactory, in the judgment of the City, shall be redone properly at no additional expense to the City. Should the Respondent fail to do this within a reasonable time, the City may deny payment and perform the work itself in any manner it sees fit. At no time, shall the Respondent or any of the Respondent's personnel, be considered an agent or employee of the City of Alton. Where not more specifically described in any of the sections of these specifications, workmanship shall conform to all the methods and operations of the best standards and accepted practices of the trade or trades involved. All work shall be executed by personnel skilled in their respective lines of work. No portion of this project may be subcontracted unless authorized by the City prior to the award of the contract. The Contractor shall not assign his contract to any other party or parties without the official approval of the corporate authorities of the City.
