Martinsville, Virginia Sealed bids are invited for construction of the Roof Replacement Project for the Gym at Martinsville Middle School, Martinsville, VA. The project is generally described as removal of the existing Single-Ply Membrane and Built-Up Roof systems and replacement with a new Fully-adhered EPDM roof system (approximately 13,500 sqft.) so as to provide a 20-year watertight warranted (material and workmanship) roof system. Note: Existing Locker Room Roof and Lobby Roofs are not intended to be replaced. A Bid Bond and Contract Security will be required of all bidders regardless of amount. Bidders shall be required to bind their bid for 60 days. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawing of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to waive any informality in the bidding procedures. Note: Once the announcement has been made by the A/E that the pre-bid meeting has officially started, only Contractors that are in attendance at that time and that also stay for the entire pre-bid meeting will be allowed to submit a bid for the project. Contractors in official attendance of the mandatory pre-bid meeting (and thus allowed to submit a bid for the project) will be denoted on the A/E's Addenda #1 for the Project (which will be emailed to all Plan Holders of Record prior to the date set for receipt of bids). The contract for the project shall be awarded on a lump sum basis of the Base Bid Amount, including any properly submitted bid modifications, plus Additive Bid Items (taken in sequence) as the Owner in its discretion chooses to Award. Contractor registration in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia is required.
