Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Manhattan Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of BIDS. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer The Manhattan Beach Cycle 2 Street Resurfacing Project is a Public Works construction project including, but not limited to, reconstructing several street segments. The following street segments are included in the Base Bid: (1) 27th St. from Laurel Avenue to Pacific Avenue (approximately 240 LF); (2) Agnes Rd. from 29th St. to Marine Ave (approximately 870 LF); and (3) 29th St. from Blanche Rd. to Agnes Rd (approximately 1,130 LF). The following streets are included as separate Additive Bid Items: (4) Flournoy Rd. from Ardmore Avenue to 19th St. (approximately 380 LF); (5) Flournoy Dr. from Valley Dr. to 33rd St. (approximately 2,630 LF); (6) Marine Ave. from Blanche Rd. to Valley Dr. (approximately 1,270 LF); and (7) 14th St. from Pacific Ave. to Laurel Ave (approximately 300 LF). Five of these segments (Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6) include construction of rolled curb and gutter and pavement removal and construction. Two segments (Nos. 4 and 7) include milling of the existing pavement surface and placement of a new asphalt rubber surface course over pavement fabric. Other work includes construction of 15 access ramps and a section of new sidewalk (on the west side of Flournoy Rd. from Valley Dr. to 25th St.), including all incidental work described in the contract documents. Other Details The project includes areas of work pertaining to pavement segments and appurtenant work described above. Additive bids include the construction of Street segments 4, 5, 6 and 7 refernced above as well as two traffic calming bulb-outs at Marine Avenue and 25th Street and Ardmore Avenue and Flournoy Road. The Project Includes, Without Limitation, Furnishing All Necessary Labor, Materials, Equipment and Other Incidental and Appurtenant Work Necessary to Satisfactorily Complete the Project, as More Specifically Described in the Contract Documents. This Work Will Be Performed in Strict Conformance With the Contract Documents, Permits From Regulatory Agencies With Jurisdiction, and Applicable Regulations. The Quantity of Work to Be Performed and Materials to Be Furnished Are Approximations Only, Being Given as a Basis for the Comparison Each Bid must be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashiers check, certified check or Bidders Bond issued by a Surety insurer, made payable to the City and in an amount not less than ten percent of the total Bid submitted. Personal or company checks are not acceptable License Requirements California State Class A Contractors License Liquidated Damages $1,000.00 per day Anticipated City Council award of contract date: 4/7/23 Time of Completion: 75 total working days (which exclude weekends and City Holidays), including pre-construction requirements. Pertinent Project Information: All areas of work are to remain open and accessible to pedestrian traffic per regulatory agency requirements during construction. The City does not have any readily available staging area; it is therefore the Contractors responsibility to procure a staging area at his/her expense.
