Renovation of a mixed-use development in Syracuse, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,635-square-foot educational facility.

Scope of work is to include all necessary labor, material and equipment for the replacement of University Hospital, South Wing Elevator Roof L having an area of approximately 3,635 SF. The work shall include removal of existing EPDM roof system down to the existing concrete topping. Retrofit roof drains. Install new vapor barrier, insulation, coverboard and PVC membrane. The existing lightning arrestor system will remain. Repair or replace damaged lightning rods. Provide safety guard rails and a new parapet mount aluminum roof ladder. Scope of Work: Provide all labor, material and equipment as necessary for the complete removal of existing roofing material down to the structural deck, repair or replacement of deteriorated deck, and the installation of a new Single Ply Roofing System at University Hospital, South Wing Roof Area L having an area of approximately 3,635 SF. All work on this Contract is to be completed within 180 days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. No pre-bid conference and project walk-through will be held. Please refer to the OGS' Bids must be submitted in triplicate (3), which must have original signatures on the forms provided by the University, in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. The selected contractor must comply with M/WBE goals. State University of New York goals are: 25% MBE and 5% WBE participation of the total contract value. State University of New York also has a goal for the Work Force participation: EEO 10% WBE and EEO 10% MBE of total work force on the project. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 25% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 5% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Contract term: 162 Calendar Days Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined free of charge at: SUNY Upstate, Design and Construction, 650 South Salina Street, 2nd floor, Syracuse, NY 13202 The work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents, consists of performing, installing, furnishing and supplying all materials, equipment, labor and incidentals necessary or convenient for the construction of Project Number 1293 titled University Hospital, South Wing Elevator Roof Replacement and carry out all of the duties and obligations imposed upon the Contractor by the Contract Documents. The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: Description of Project: Replace the University Hospital, South Wing Elevator Roof. The scope of work is as follows: Roof L approximately 3,635 SF -Remove the existing EPDM roof system down to the existing oncrete topping. The existing roof deck is reputed to be concrete topping on a formed cinder block deck. Install new insulation with coverboard, and install PVC membrane roofing system with peel-and-stick vapor barrier. The existing lightning arrestor system will remain. Repair or replace damaged lightning rods. Retrofit roof drains will also be provided. The existing marble coping cap shall remain. New sealant to be provided at all joints in between coping cap. Existing curbs and vents will be raised as required. The existing smoke hatch shall be painted. Guardrails will be provided around perimeter of the roof and hatch opening. A new aluminum roof ladder with parapet mount shall be installed.
