The Work will be substantially performed within 4 months from the date of notification of award of contract or September 30, 2023, whichever is later. Contractors are advised the PROJECT shall include, but will not be limited to, the scope as outlined in the following summary. Resurfacing of the TransCanada Highway from Birchy Narrows Bridge to Main Brook Bridge, approximately 580.6 to Km 595.6. The work entails but not necessarily limited to: Brush clearing from Km 586.6 to Km 595.6, both sides. Application of tack coat on existing asphalt courses. Place two lifts of new asphalt throughout various locations as described herein or as directed by the Resident Engineer. First lift of asphalt to be 40mm levelling course intended to fill surface voids and existing asphalt rutting; approximate location Km 580.6 to Km 593.7. The final lift of asphalt to be a 50mm surface course; approximate location Km 580.6 to Km 595.6. Both lifts of asphalt to be placed and compacted throughout the limits of the project as directed by the Resident Engineer. The contractor will adjust and tie into all existing intersection, highway access locations and roadside features in accordance with the parameters described in the Departmens Highway Access Policy or as directed by the Resident Engineer. Application of granular for highway shouldering All work is to conform to the Typical Cross section RAU100, Form 11271 of the Departments Specification Book. IRI Road smoothness shall be a category A for all resurfacing locations.
