The work, officially known as "Northern Interceptor Manhole Rehabilitation" consists of sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation of 20 manholes on the gravity sewer from IL Route 59 East along Petite Lake Road. WAGE RATES: Contractors are required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates on the project as established by the State of Illinois, Department of Labor, pursuant to Illinois Statutes. Copies of the prevailing wage rate determination will be on file at the addresses listed for inspecting Bidding Documents and will be included in the Contract Documents. OTHER PROVISIONS: The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of the Illinois Statutes. In connection with the performance of work under this contract, the Contractor agrees not to discriminate against any employees or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, handicap, sex, physical condition, developmental disability, or national origin. This provision shall include, but not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotion, or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff and termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; selection for training, including apprenticeship. The Contractor further agrees to post in conspicuous places, available for employees and applicants for employment, notices setting forth the provisions of this non-discrimination clause. BID SECURITY: Bids shall be accompanied by a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond on the prescribed form payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the Total Bid Amount as guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Agreement, Bid Bonds will be accepted electronically, and MUST be uploaded. Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certifications, as required by the Contract Documents, within 15 days after the Notice of Award. BID REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE: The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive any informalities in bidding or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serve the interests of Owner. BID WITHDRAWAL: No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the scheduled opening of the Bids without the consent of the Owner.
