INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS - Throughout the time work is being performed under this Agreement, Contractor shall obtain and maintain public liability insurance in the sum of not less than ONE MILLION and 00/100 DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00) for damages relating to any one person or for damages relating to any one occurrence. This insurance policy shall name the Benzie County Road Commission (BCRC) as an additional named insured and shall contain a provision that the policy cannot be terminated, canceled, or substantially altered without thirty (30) days written notice to the Road Commission. Contractor shall provide notice of compliance with this insurance provision before beginning the work to be performed under this Agreement. SUBCONTRACTING: The approval of the Road Commission shall be obtained prior to any substantial work being subcontracted. The contractor shall assure that any subcontractor named has sufficient equipment, insurance, and personnel to properly complete any item of work within the specified time. PRE-QUALIFICATIONS: Bidders shall be licensed builders in the State of Michigan and have available, upon request, three references from previous work experience including the company name, address, phone and a contact person. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform the services as described in the specifications herein. All work shall be performed in accordance with all federal, state, and local governing authority, laws and regulations. All work included in this Contract, except trouble/emergency calls, shall be performed during daylight hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. only, unless otherwise directed by the BCRC Superintendent. No work shall be allowed on weekends unless prior approval is obtained from the BCRC Superintendent. Work shall not be permitted on Holidays, as defined by the BCRC Superintendent. The BCRC Superintendentshall suspend the work at any time if traffic is being unduly hampered or delayed by the work in progress. The Contractor shall provide services at the location and frequencies, as directed by the BCRC Superintendent. The Contractor is responsible for the disposal of all material using Disposal Method listed below. At no time will waste material or storage containers be staged/stored on MDOT properties or right of way.
