Demolition, site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Venice, Florida. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The County reserves the right to reject any or all materials if, in its judgment, the item reflects unsatisfactory workmanship or manufacturing or shipping damage. If during the performance of construction or repair work, an unforeseen circumstance occurs that triggers an additional expense, a contingency of up to 10% may be allowed provided the original quote plus contingency does not exceed $150,000 To be considered, substitutions must be submitted to the Contact listed in Periscope S2G no later than the Question and Answer deadline listed in Periscope S2G. SCOPE OF WORK A. Vendor shall supply one (1) walk-in type air monitoring instrument shelter equipped to house gaseous and particulate analyzers, data logger, and battery backup. The shelter shall be equipped with a split style autoswitching (heat/air conditioning) climate control system capable of maintaining the internal temperature between 20C and 40C, roof access with non-skid grating and railing. Analyzers, data logger, and battery backup will be supplied by County. B. Vendor shall provide and submit engineered and stamped drawings, detailed specifications, and installation requirements of Air Monitoring Shelter (Product) to the County in order for County to obtain Sarasota County permits. i. Drawings, specifications and installation requirements shall be provided within fourteen (14) calendar days after issuance of Purchase Order (PO) or other time if agreed upon by the County and Vendor. ii. The County will pay for required engineered drawings from Vendor and apply for and purchase any required permit(s). iii. Vendor shall provide any changes or alterations in order to satisfy permitting requirements at no additional cost and submit revised drawings, detailed specifications, and/or installation requirements (if necessary to satisfy permitting requirements) to County within fourteen (14) calendar days from County's notification to the Vendor. 2. SPECIFICATIONS A. The Product shall comply with the following technical specifications: i. Minimum nominal dimensions of 16' long x 8' wide x 8' tall. ii. Aluminum exterior walls. iii. Seamless (1-piece) rubber roof membrane. iv. Insulation R-21 or greater. v. Entrance door minimum 36" X 84" with associated closing and latching hardware and lock with key. vi. 100A 1PH 120/240V Load Center with external disconnect. vii. At least six (6) 120V 20A duplex outlets. viii. Two (2) double bulb 48" fluorescent or LED light fixtures with switch near door. ix. Minimum 18,000 BTU heating and cooling split style HVAC system with thermostat capable of maintaining the internal temperature between 20C and 40C. Aluminum roof guard railings with toe plate and roof access, and aluminum roof grating or non-slip covering to support at least two (2) people on the roof at the same time. xi. One (1) roof penetration point to accommodate a particulate monitor. xii. Three (3) wall penetrations with caps to accommodate continuous gaseous analyzer sample lines. xiii. Two (2) wall penetrations near the floor, with caps, to accommodate outdoor vacuum pump line and exhaust manifold for gaseous analyzers. xiv. 10-meter aluminum meteorological tower, manual crank-up, with mounting brackets and grounding kit. xv. Hurricane rated tie-down system to comply with all requirements of Florida Building Code 2020, Section 1609. B. The County will consider any brand and manufacturer as long as it meets all the specifications listed herein. All conferences and site visits will take place at the time, date and location specified in Periscope S2G. There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid conference. 6.2 Failure by an Offeror to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference or site visit will result in their offer being considered non-responsive. 6.3 When applicable, offerors are advised to visit each location to familiarize themselves with all work areas. Failure to do so will in no manner relieve the offeror from furnishing materials or services that may be required to carry out and complete the contract in accordance with the intent of the specifications listed herein.
