The City of Santa Barbara is requesting bid proposals for maintenance of four CDS (Storm Drain Sumps) units. The City of Santa Barbara is requesting bid proposals for maintenance of four Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS) units: 1) Contech Model CDS 50.50_DV located on West Haley Street near the intersection of Brinkerhoff Street 2) Contech Model CDS 2020-5-C located next near Bohnett Park next to the sidewalk on the 1200 block of San Pascual Street 3) Contech Model CDS 2020-5-C located in Bohnett Park next to the sidewalk on the 1200 block of San Pascual Street 4) Contech PMIU-20-15 located in the Parks & Recreation parking lot at 620 Laguna Street. The CDS units are sumps in the storm drainpipe that collect solids and floatables before they reach the creeks. Routine removal by pumping of these solids and floatables is necessary to maintain the function of the CDS. Stormwater is directed to the CDS via a weir box. Traffic Control is required at the West Haley Street Unit during pumping service in order to direct traffic around the maintenance crews and equipment. The maintenance crew needs one lane on half of a block of Haley Street closed, and traffic must be routed accordingly on adjacent streets. Traffic control must be implemented according to the attached City approved Traffic Control Plan (TCP) (Attachment 8). Any additional traffic control deemed necessary by the contractor for safety at the other sites is permissible with the approval of a traffic control plan that the contractor submits to the City in advance.
