**As of April 5, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. No definite bid date yet.** The class(es) of California contractor's license(s) required in order to bid on and perform the contract for this Project is: BGeneral Contractor License or a C-21 Building Moving/Demolition Contractor License and C-61/D-24 Metal Products Contractor License. In addition, each Bidder shall also have no less than five (5) years of experience in the magnitude and character of the work bid. The Performance Bond and the Payment Bond shall be for one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Bid Price. Each bid shall be accompanied by: (a) certified check made payable to the District; (b) a cashiers check made payable to the District; or (c) a bid bond payable to the District executed by the bidder as principal and surety as obligor in an amount not less than 10% of the maximum amount of the bid This Project has a participation goal for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) of at least three percent (3%) of the overall dollar amount of state funds allocated to the District pursuant to the Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 Discrepancies in, and/or omissions from the Plans, Specifications or other Contract Documents or questions as to their meaning shall be immediately brought to the attention of the District by submission of a written request for an interpretation or correction to the District. Such submission, if any, must be sent to Purchasing by e-mailing Jeff Johnson at jefjohnson@powayusd.com no later than 11:00am on March 9, 2023. If work under this contract is not ready for the intended use within the specified time period, the agreed liquidated damages established in Article 42 of the General Conditions and Article 4 of the Agreement is One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per day for each calendar date completion is delayed. The Contractor shall provide sufficient labor, material, and equipment to complete the scope of work. The project is expected to begin June 10, 2023, and be completed by August 12, 2023. However, if procurement timeframes, due to supply chain restrictions, do not allow the project to be completed during this period of time, the District will consider a project start date of December 23, 2023, with a project completion date of January 5, 2024. If such, the Contractor must provide documentation to support the delay, and include this information in their Bid Submittal Packet. The Work shall be commenced on the date stated in the District's Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall complete all Work required by the Contract Documents within approximately 63 calendar days starting ten (10) consecutive calendar days after the date of notification of award. Contractor shall complete all work and obtain all jurisdictional authorities' approval necessary to permit staff occupancy of all buildings for fixturing and outfitting no later than August 12, 2023. By its signature hereunder, Contractor agrees the time for completion set forth above is adequate and reasonable to complete the Work. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Project locations: Bernardo Heights Middle School located at 12990 Paseo Lucido, San Diego, CA 92128. Mesa Verde Middle School located at 8375 Entreken Way, San Diego, CA 92129.
