The San Joaquin County General Services Department Has Just Released a Bid Titled san Joaquin County Detention and Program Facility (Sb 1022) Project Location: San Joaquin County Sheriff s Office, 7000 Michael Canlis Blvd., French Camp, Ca 95231. For Furnishing All Labor, Material, Tax, Transportation, Equipment, And Services Necessary For The Construction And Completion Of San Joaquin County Program And Detention Facility (Sb 1022) Project In Accordance With The Specifications And Working Details And Other Contract Documents Now On File With The County Of San Joaquin General Services Department – Capital Projects Administration, Located As Noted Above. A Bid submittal must be from contractors holding a State of California Class A or Class B License at the time of Bid submittal. Furthermore, subcontractors must also be duly licensed in the State of California at the time of Bid submittal. Within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the bid opening, the responsible low bidder shall deliver to the Owner’s Representative, in a form acceptable to the Owner’s Representative, proof at the time of the Bid submittal of the contractors and subcontractors possession of duly issued and valid contractors licenses issued by the State of California. Bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the order of the County of San Joaquin. If a bidder's bond accompanies the bid, the bond shall be secured from a surety company satisfactory to the County. Said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee in the case of refusal or failure to enter into a contract and it is agreed that the check or bond, as the case may be, shall be retained by the County as the measure of stipulated liquidated damages. In addition, bids must be accompanied with a Letter of Payment and Performance Bond Ability drafted and signed by surety for the total bid amount. Work must begin the first contractor working day as stipulated on the Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner. This may or may not be the same date as the contract. The Notice to Proceed will be issued in a reasonable amount of time. If it is not the same day as the award of contract, then no later than fifteen (15) calendar days later. The project must be completed within six hundred and sixty five (665) calendar days after contractor commences work. The contract will provide for liquidated damages in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) per day for each day the work is not completed beyond the time specified in the preceding paragraph and in the Bid Form.
