A. The work under this Section consists of furnishing all survey, engineering, supervision, labor, material, equipment, and related services necessary to design and construct ground improvement by installation of stone columns or aggregate piers as indicated on the drawings and specified herein. The work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Use of automated monitoring systems to measure, document, and report the installed aggregate/stone quantities and compaction effort applied versus depth for all piers/columns. 2. Containment, collection, storage, and disposal of all spoils and water produced by the installation process, including groundwater that may rise to the surface during ground improvement operations. 3. Monitoring and mitigation of all impacts of the ground improvement operation on all existing facilities, including but not limited to vibrations, settlement, and heave. 4. Modulus testing and/or pre/post installation SPT or CPT tests to confirm design assumptions and demonstrate consistency of installed ground improvement elements. This includes GROUND IMPROVEMENTS (Aggregate Piers), SITE PREPERATION/EXCAVATION, and GROUND IMPROVEMENTS DEWATERING/CONSTRUCTION DEWATERING for the project. The project has funding from Utah SRF funds and the Build America, Buy America Act will apply to this project. Bidders will be required to submit bids that meet the requirements of the Act, including prevailing wage rates, and approved materials. DBE, WBE and MBE Subcontractors are invited to participate in this project. Prospective bidders should respond, with an email, stating they meet the minimum qualifications required by bid documents and their intentions to bid before March 3 2023. Construction of ground improvements is scheduled to start in March 2023.
