Site work and paving for a road / highway in Maplewood, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of October 22, 2025, construction is complete. The street pavement in the Maplewood Dr./Cypress area is proposed to be rehabilitated in 2024 due to poor pavement condition. Typically, the street pavement is milled or reclaimed and new pavement is installed. This type of rehabilitation work is done in areas with concrete curb and gutter which have underground utilities in good condition. The streets in this project area in poor condition and in need of repair. The streets include Maplewood Dr. E., Duluth St., Connor Ave., Edgehill Ct., Hilltop Ct., English St., Cypress St., Sextant Ave., Adele St., Demont Ave. These streets have existing concrete curb and gutter which will be maintained, and the existing pavement is proposed to be reclaimed and replaced. 1.98 miles of streets, Average PCI: 36/100 Project Scope: Reclamation, essentially roto-tilling, of pavement & aggregate base to create new gravel base. Removal of excess reclaim material (gravel) to allow for new pavement section. Installation of new asphalt pavement. Replace existing structurally damaged concrete curb. Repairs as needed to existing storm sewer structures and castings. Replacement of outdated sanitary sewer castings. Installation of sacrificial anodes on existing water main. (reduce corrosion & prolong life) Restoration of driveways and boulevards The project is included in the City of Maplewood 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of January 10, 2024, per owner, the city is designing the project with help of a consultant. Design will be ongoing until mid-March 2024. Project is expected to bid by end of March 2024. Construction expected to begin in June 2024 and be completed in November 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
