The description of this project is concrete pavement repairs at Irvine Sand Canyon Bus Base and Newport Transportation Centre. Overall, the work generally includes demolition of existing asphalt and concrete pavements, demolition of existing concrete equipment pads/platforms, concrete reconstruction, site improvements and other related work. This project is funded under a financial assistance contract by the U.S. Department of Transportation and is subject to all conditions of the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 3141-48), as supplemented by the Department of Labour regulations 29 CFR part 5, and the Labor Code of the State of California commencing in Section 1770 et. seq. It is required that all mechanics and laborers employed or working at the site be paid not less than the current basic hourly rates of pay and fringe benefits. Wage schedules are available at the Authority's Offices, which shall be made available to any interested party upon request, or on the internet. The Authority reserves the right to revise the IFB documents. Such, if any, will be made by written addendum to this IFB. Any written addenda issued pertaining to this IFB shall be incorporated into the terms and conditions of any resulting Agreement. The Authority will not be bound to any modifications to or deviations from the requirements set forth in this IFB as the result of oral instructions. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of Addenda in their bids. Failure to acknowledge receipt of Addenda may cause the bid to be deemed non-responsive to this IFB and be rejected. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or an acceptable bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the order of the Orange County Transportation Authority. A corporate surety (not an individual surety), registered in the state of California and registered to do business in the county of Orange must issue bid bonds. Said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work and in case of refusal or failure to enter into said contract, the check or bond, as the case may be, shall be forfeited to the Authority.
