The Midland County Road Commission is seeking professional as-needed services for inspection, testing, and survey for a variety of projects. Projects may be added or deleted as needed. Any vendor/consultant interested in providing services, please indicate your interest by submitting a proposal. Consultants and their sub-consultants shall be experienced in MDOT road construction inspecting, testing and survey. Submittal shall include a description of how the company can best provide services for Midland County Road Commission. Also include resumes of two or more certified technicians with MDOT construction inspection and testing experience that are proposed to provide assistance to the Road Commission on an as-needed basis. Provide certification of training documentation including but not limited to: SESC, density testing, concrete testing, HMA inspection, aggregate, etc. General Vendor responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide inspection, testing, and surveying services as-needed under the direction of the Road Commission, including HMA construction, aggregate construction, ditching, drainage work and guardrail.
Perform all reporting, measurement, computation, and documentation required by the project specifications, plans and proposal.
Provide transportation to & from project sites. Provide computers, testing equipment, gauges, and survey equipment to complete the necessary inspection/testing/survey requirements for the projects assigned.
Attend project related meetings.
Perform inspection and document project site Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control measures.
Complete all necessary inspection reports and supporting documentation.
Perform necessary material Quality Assurance sampling and/or testing and density control.
Provide as-needed construction staking. The following is a partial listing of anticipated 2023 projects based on current information, and is intended for informational purposes only: Five (5) Federal Aid Road Projects
Three (3) Federal Aid Flood Repair Projects
One (1) Locally Bid Road Rehab Project
Two (2) Locally Bid Bridge Projects All questions regarding this request shall be emailed to bids@midlandroads.com . Questions will be accepted until 4:00pm on March 7, 2023. Answers to the questions will be sent to those who submitted them in the form of an emailed response. The Road Commission would like to thank all interested vendors in advance for the preparation of their proposals. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
