As of April 28, 2023. Project has been awarded to the following: Darr Construction Inc. for HVAC Construction in the amount of $997,700 for the following; Base bid $529,000, Alternate HC-1 Gym RTU 167,600, HC-2 Cafeteria RTU $114,300, HC-3 Auditorium RTU $186,800. Levernight Electric for Electrical Construction in the amount of $222,850 for the following; Base bid $196,600, Alternate EC-1 Gym RTU 6,500, EC-2 Cafeteria RTU $4,560, EC-3 Auditorium RTU $8,790, EC-4 Acoustical Ceiling Tile $6,400. The project includes upgrading the HVAC system of the North Star High School. The Base Bid scope of work generally includes the furnishing and installation of new LED lighting in the classrooms, 2 new energy recovery roof top units, VAV boxes with hot water reheat, piping, ductwork, diffusers and controls serving the classrooms. There are alternatives planned that include, but are not limited to new RTU serving the Gym, Cafeteria and Auditorium. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of a Contract. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided by the Commonwealth Procurement Code. However, if award of Contract is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant or grants, Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening in accordance with Pennsylvania law. North Star School District reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any or all Bids and to waive irregularities in any Bid. Further, North Star School District reserves the right to award any combination of Alternates, or no Alternates, which in its sole discretion, serves the best interests of the School District This project is subject to the Davis Bacon Wage Rates. Corporations seeking to bid which are organized under the laws of a State other than Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificate, authorizing them to conduct business within the Commonwealth.
