The Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife) invites sealed bids for the re-mowing/mulching of tree stump sprouts in previously thinned woodland as well as mow- ing/mulching of understory shrubs and immature trees at the Montague Plains Wildlife Management Area located in Montague, Massachusetts. Mowing will be conducted on up to 74 acres during Fiscal Year 2023. The principal objec- tive of the project is to restore an open canopy oak wood- land with remnant pitch pine above a dense shrub layer of scrub oak, lowbush blueberry, and other native herbs and shrubs associated with sandplain and barrens communi- ties in accordance with specifications prepared by Mass- Wildlife for project DFW-2023-036. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Contract Documents and shall be ac- companied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the val- ue of the bid. Bid deposits, payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, shall be in the form of a bid bond, certified, cashier's or trea- surer's check issued by a responsible bank or trust com- pany. Minimum wage rates for this project have been predetermined by M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, inclusive. Proposals that do not have the Affidavit (of non-collusion, etc.) properly completed will be declared informal. Bids are subject to provisions M.G.L. Chapter 30, Sections 39F, 39G, 39H, 39K and 39M and Chapter 149, Sections 44A to 44H, inclusive. The right is reserved to waive any informality in or reject any or all proposals.
