Site work for a residential development in Hastings, Nebraska. Working plans call for site work for a residential development.

Grounding of household electric system when plastic water services are installed: In the event existing metal water line to be abandoned is the source of grounding, supplemental electrodes shall be provided per NEC 250. One shall be a rod or pipe electrode as specified in NEC 250.53, and the others shall be as mandated in NEC 250.52. Abandoned water service is not to be used for grounding. A licensed Master Electrician is required to pull a local electrical permit. The grounding electrode system shall comply with NEC 250. Provide services for supplemental electrical grounding. Hastings Utilities will be boring in the new water services, estimate 2-3 services completed per week. As a result, existing lead water service lines will no longer be connected to ground the household electrical in most cases where the electrical is grounded on the water piping. If coordination works out, electrician can do their work at the same time the water service is being installed, therefore Hastings Utilities will acquire access to the property. Since this will require timely work, the intent of this proposal is to secure multiple contractors to work through scheduling conflicts and manage to complete the projects in a timely fashion. Consider the typical installation to be minimally invasive and electrical service located on an exterior wall. For any services that require additional effort such as crossing finished walls, these will be negotiated appropriately. Davis-Bacon Act Wage Determinations are required. Contractors and subcontractors on USEPA federally assisted construction projects are required to pay their laborers and mechanics wages not less than those established by the U.S. Department of Labor. A current wage decision containing the appropriate building and/or heavy type rates is included in the specifications for bidding purposes.
