Renovation of a mixed-use development in Dryden, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Bids are requested for multiple prime contracts in accordance with Drawings, Project Manual, and other Bidding and Contract Documents prepared by Hunt Engineers, Architects, Land Surveyors & Landscape Architect, DPC All questions prior to bid opening must be received by the close of business on March 17th, 2023. Questions shall be directed to Josh Bezio at Hunt Engineers, Architects, Land Surveyors & Landscape Architect, DPC at email Bezioj@hunt-eas.com. All bidders request for information shall use the form located in specification 00 12 00 - Request for Information. A digital copy of this form is available upon request. As bid security, each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond made payable to Owner, in accordance with the amounts and terms described in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Owner requires that all bids shall comply with the bidding requirements specified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Owner may, at his discretion, waive informalities in bids, but is not obligated to do so, nor does this represent that he will do so. The Owner also reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Under no circumstances will the Owner waive any informality which, by such waiver, would give one Bidder a substantial advantage or benefit not enjoyed by all other Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid before forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, unless a mistake due to error is claimed by the Bidder in accordance with INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. All checks for sets of Bidding and Contract Documents shall be made payable to the Dryden Central School District. All checks for shipping and handling, and PDF sets, shall be made payable to Hunt Engineers, Architects, Land Surveyors & Landscape Architect, DPC. All Prime Contract Bidders who have paid the aforesaid deposit for an entire set of Bidding and Contract Documents and have submitted a bid with required bid security; and return such sets to Dataflow Inc. Horseheads office in GOOD CONDITION within thirty (30) calendar days after the award of contract or rejection of bids, shall receive a refund of the full amount of such deposit. Any NON-BIDDER may be refunded his deposit only upon returning plans and specifications PRIOR to the bid opening. Postage and HANDLING are NOT REFUNDABLE. DRYDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SED #: 61-03-01-06-0-003-030 RESIDENTIAL DEMOLITION SED #: 61-03-01-06-7-024-001 The Work will be constructed under multiple Prime Contractor Agreements. One set of contract documents are issued covering the multiple Prime Contracts. Prime Contracts are separate contracts between the Owner and independent contractors representing significant construction activities. Each Prime Contract is performed concurrently and closely coordinated with construction activities performed on the Project under other Prime contracts. Provide all material, labor, equipment, supervision, management, and administration required for the total performance of the Work of this Contract including: 1. Work of the following Divisions and Specification Sections: Division 00 Bidding Requirements, Contract Forms and Conditions of the Contract Division 01 General Requirements Division 02 Existing Conditions (For work of this Contract) Division 03 Concrete (For Work of this Contract) Division 05 Metals (For Work of this Contract) Division 06 Wood, Plastics and Composites (For Work of this Contract) Division 07 Thermal & Moisture Protection (For Work of this Contract) Division 08 Openings (For Work of this Contract) Division 09 Finishes (For Work of this Contract) Division 10 Specialties (For Work of this Contract) Division 11 Equipment (For the Work of this Contract) Division 21 Fire Suppression Division 22 Plumbing a. All plumbing bidders shall visit the site to verify and review existing conditions before estimating the cost of the project. b. The General Trades Contractor shall provide dumpster service for all building construction of all contractors' activities (other than the work of the Site Work Contractor) until the date of substantial completion. Haul legal disposable debris off site. c. Review Section 01 32 16 for project schedule. d. Review Section 01 20 00 for Prices & Payments for work of this contract. e. Review Section 01 50 00 for work requirements of temporary construction activities in the Prime Contractors scope of work. f. Review the Specifications for selective demolition requirements in Prime Contractor's scope of work. g. Contract specific selective demolition: 1. All plumbing demolition, including cut and patch to match to facilitate this Contract's scope of work and to meet code requirements. 2. Surfaces scheduled to receive new finishes per the room finish schedule are to be patched and ready to receive the new finish. 3. Coordinate cutting of all openings through roof deck with General Trades Contractor. The General Trades Contractor will flash to existing roofing systems. 4. Removal of all fixtures, equipment, materials and pads. h. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide concrete work per section 03 30 00 for all work of the Plumbing Contractor. i. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide the General Trades Contractor with all auxiliary embedded items that need to be installed including lintels, sleeves, access doors, etc. Provide the products on a timely basis to avoid any delays in the scheduled completion of each phase. j. All Prime Contractors are required to clean their own work area at the end of each workday. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide daily debris removal. Failure to comply with cleaning requirements will activate owner remedies. k. The Plumbing Contractor shall coordinate and install ALL plumbing fittings, faucets and components when furnished by others plus any furnished by this contract. l. The Plumbing Contractor is responsible for ALL final connections to plumbing equipment and mechanical equipment. m. The Plumbing Contractor is responsible for offsite disposal of unsuitable spoil and replacement with suitable fill resulting from the excavation work of the Plumbing Contractor. n. All Contractors are responsible for dewatering for the work of their Contract. o. The Plumbing Contractor shall note the Plumbing equipment is intended to be provided in accordance with the completion dates indicated on the phasing schedules. p. Responsible to provide and install any and all access doors and if located in fire rated walls, doors must have equal rating. Access doors are to be new and match existing finishes. q. This contract will fire caulk, fire safe etc... as necessary any place its contract penetrates a fire rated system, not limited to hangers, supports, duct, pipe etc... r. All excavation work will be restored and compacted according to Division 2 in the Specifications. s. The Plumbing Contractor shall remove, modify, and reinstall all roof drain piping in order to accommodate any and all roofing work. The General Contractor will provide and install all roof drain assemblies including sump pans. t. The Plumbing Contractor shall disconnect gas piping from all mechanical rooftop units to be removed and reinstalled/relocated, and then reconnect/refeed power to these units, extending piping as needed to accommodate new curb heights and new RTU locations. u. The Plumbing Contractor shall remove and reinstall all gas piping as required to complete all roofing work. v. All Contractors shall provide any and all temporary shoring, bracing, support, or protection systems necessary to expedite their work requirements, including the maintenance of workers safety and compliance with OSHA safety regulations. w. Painting of exposed piping/conduit in occupiable spaces shall be by General Trade Contractor. Painting of exposed piping in mechanical rooms/boiler rooms shall be by the installing contractor. x. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide temporary protection for work of Plumbing Contract until time of final cleaning by The General Trade Contractor. y. The Plumbing Contractor will install all concrete and pre-cast pads necessary to place equipment installed by the Plumbing Contractor z. The Plumbing Contractor will provide all gas, water, storm, and sanitary piping connections from 5' outside the building in, including fitting to connect to the work of the General Trades Contractor. The Plumbing Contractor will provide all hangers as noted in the Contract drawings, coordinate with General Trades Contractor. aa. This contract shall use smoke eater ventilator units to eliminate any smell associated with work using torches or welding equipment. bb. The plumbing contractor is responsible for permanent insulation on all existing plumbing lines that will remain after abatement of existing insulation is complete. a. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide all roof curbs and roof boots required for the work of their contract to the General Trades Contractor for installation. b. The Plumbing Contractor is responsible for all interior (and up to 5' outside the building) natural gas piping work and gas valves as shown on the contract documents. c. The Electrical Contractor will provide drains and water supply piping and connections to Temporary Serving Line and Coolers/Freezers to facilitate DES Kitchen renovations.
