The carsonia park pedestrian bridge replacement and trail improvement project a) Removal of an existing asphalt trail and installation of an ADA accessible trail from an existing parking area along Crystal Lake in Carsonia Park (approximately 525 linear ft.) b)Removal of an existing chain link fence and installation of a new matching fence approximately 331 linear feet at the location specified in the drawings. c)Install cast-in-place pedestrian bridge abutments per the manufacturer's specifications, PE stamped drawings, and PA DEP Chapter 105 permit. d)Coordinate the delivery of and install the owner supplied pedestrian bridge on the abutments per the manufacturer's specifications, PE Stamped drawings, and PA DEP Chapter 105 permit (Bid Alternate #1). e)Coordinate and install the owner supplied picnic tables, bollards, and sign per the manufacturer's specifications at the location specified in the project plans. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 3/30/2023 4:00 PM The bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in an amount not less then ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid submitted. This sum will serve as a bid security and will be forfeited to the Recreation Commission of Antietam Valley as liquidated damages in the event that an award is made, and the contract and bonds are not promptly executed as required in the contract documents for required bonds and insurance coverage. This project is subject to the labor standards as required by the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act #442 and reference is made to prevailing wage rates applicable to this project and which have been included as part of this project. Where a particular craft is not listed in the prevailing wage rates, the contractor shall contact the Department's rate determination department to determine the rates that will apply to satisfy the Act's Requirements. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date specified for opening and reading of the bids, except as provided in accordance with the Pennsylvania Act No. 4 as approved on January 23, 1974. The Recreation Commission of Antietam Valley reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any technical defects and irregularities.
