It is the intent of this Invitation for Bid to establish an Agency Specific Term Contract to provide ready-mix concrete to NC Department of Transportation. This mixture specified herein will primarily be used to repair roads, foundations, buildings, and highways throughout Department of Transportation's 14 Divisions. Also, this product is heavily used by the divisions during the winter months and inclement weather, which is imperative to have an agency specific contract in place The Contract shall have an initial term of two (2) years, beginning on the date of final Contract execution (the "Effective Date") At the end of the Contract's initial term, the State shall have the option, in its sole discretion, to renew the Contract on the same terms and conditions for up to one (1) additional year term. The State will give the Vendor written notice of its intent to exercise each option no later than thirty (30) days before the end of the Contract's then-current term. In addition, the State reserves the right to extend a contract term after the last active term.
