Contractors submitting bid proposals must obtain bid documents from the Engineer for bid to be considered. Contractors submitting bid proposals must submit proposals on all work items in the contract to be considered a responsive bidder. Character and amount of security to be furnished by each bidder are stated in the bid documents. The principal features of the Contract include: 1. Furnishing and installing approximately 6,780 linear feet of 12-inch PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and 90 linear feet of 12-in HDPE (high-density polyethylene) water main along Gapway Road, including fittings, gate valves, and other appurtenances. 2. Furnishing and installing approximately 3,000 linear feet of 8-inch water main along Plymouth Road, including HDPE for horizontal directional drills, and PVC open cut. Fire hydrants will be accommodated on the proposed water main. 3. Furnishing and installing approximately 2,650 linear feet of 8-inch PVC and 830 linear feet of 8-in HDPE water main along Old Berkley Road, including fittings, gate valves, and other appurtenances. The Contract(s) awarded under this Solicitation will be funded, in part, by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Owner reserves the right to issue direct purchase orders for any or all materials and equipment as bid by the successful bidder. The Public Construction bond and specified insurance are required to be secured from or countersigned by an agency of the surety or insurance company, which agency shall have an established place of business in Florida and be duly licensed to conduct business therein. Bids shall be enclosed within a sealed envelope with the words "BID FOR WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS" and the Bidder's name clearly marked on the outside thereof. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid; to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, with or without cause; and/or to accept the bid that in his judgment will be in his best interest.
