Proposal:
The applicants request Design Review approval for an addition to the existing Belmont Library.
The proposal would keep and renovate the original 1924 and 1937 portions of the building,
located on the south end of the site and totaling 3,555 SF, but remove the 1990's addition on
the north side of the site. That old addition will be replaced with a new 12,400 SF, two-story
addition. New retaining walls, stairs, and ramps will be added to the west and north sides of
the building. The existing parking lot on the north end of the site with also be reconfigured to
have four parking spaces and one Standard B loading space. A new trash and recycling
enclosure is proposed at the northeast corner of the site.
