Install supporting infrastructure on the west side of the highway to mitigate the slide. Possible infrastructure to include a row of piles and drilled shafts. This slide drops several inches each year. Asphalt patching of the slide results in asphalt buildup, which adds weight to the road and exacerbates the slide problem. The project will result in increased safety for users of the road and in fewer closures to the southbound lanes, which occur three to four times per year. As of March 6, 2025, per owner, nothing is currently planned for construction at this time. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
