The Holiday Farm Fire - Culvert Improvements project involves designing and preparing construction drawings and specifications for replacing and upsizing four culverts that are within the area of the 2020 Holiday Farm Fire. This work is funded by a FEMA grant, to mitigate risk from post-fire debris flows. See below for more details on project funding. The culvert locations and descriptions are summarized as follows: Goodpasture Rd, mile point (MP) 0.75 The existing culvert is a 36 concrete pipe, under 20 feet of fill. It conveys a stream with estimated bankfull width of 8 feet. The replacement culvert will need to meet fish passage requirements. The existing outlet is perched and will require channel grading downstream to provide for fish passage. Goodpasture Rd, MP 4.90 The existing culvert is an 18 corrugated metal pipe. The replacement culvert will need to meet fish passage requirements. The existing outlet is perched and would require channel grading downstream to provide for fish passage. Goodpasture Rd, MP 5.01 The existing culvert is a 42 corrugated metal pipe at a steep slope and with over 15 feet of fill at the outlet. It conveys a stream with estimated bankfull width of 7.5 feet. The replacement culvert will need to meet fish passage requirements. The existing outlet is perched and will require significant channel grading downstream to provide for fish passage. N Gate Creek Rd, MP 1.61 The existing culvert is an 18 corrugated metal pipe. The replacement culvert will not need to meet fish passage requirements. We expect that a concrete box culvert is needed due to the size of boulders upstream of the site and shallow depth of the existing culvert.
