As of August 31, 2023, a design team has been selected. The City of Alpharetta is accepting proposals for the DESIGN SERVICES: LOG CABIN PARK STORMWATER MITIGATION. The design should integrate one or more stormwater management facilities in a manner that augments the capture and infiltration or storage of stormwater on the Log Cabin Park property (Exhibit A). While the primary goal is an increase in overall stormwater capture, the project aesthetics and design should align with the existing community facilities and planned community use. A tributary to Foe Killer Creek flows through the Log Cabin Park and is upstream of the Meadow Brooks/ Milton Estates neighborhood, which suffers from nuisance flooding. The goal is to capture and infiltrate or retain stormwater within the city-owned property in combination with the existing and future park amenities. The Consultant will perform engineering services including, but not limited to, HEC-HMS hydrologic modeling, HEC-RAS hydraulic modeling, final design of one or more stormwater management facilities, cost estimation for construction, permitting, and development of an operations and maintenance plan. The options identified in the assessment will be presented to the city staff and the Consultant will then develop design drawings for the preferred alternative. The Work will begin upon contract execution and receipt of the Notice to Proceed and will end upon the completion of the Project as agreed by both parties.
