The intent of this contract is primarily for the maintenance replacement of existing message markings using Type B Class I thermoplastic material. For example, restriping worn stop bars, turn arrows, messages, X-walks and various pavement messages using thermo push cart operations. Task Orders will often require night time, push cart operations. This contract will also be used for the install of new message markings and for the install of TypeA paint, to include but not limited to annual retrace operations of existing long-line markings. The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide services to eradicate existing linear and non-linear pavement markings, furnish and install Type B Class 1 Liquid thermoplastic pavement markings/messages, Type B Class II Pre-Formed thermoplastic pavement markings/messages, Type A latex paint, Type B Class VI tape, Plastic Inlaid Markers (PIMs) and reflective lenses, throughout VDOT's Richmond District. This area includes the counties of Amelia, Brunswick, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan, and Prince George. The services shall be performed primarily along the Primary and Secondary roadways; however, there may be some services required on Interstate ramps, Interstate acceleration & deceleration lanes, and Interstate mainline maintained by VDOT in the Richmond District, and includes the cities of Richmond, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Hopewell and South Hill. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: From April 19, 2023 or date of award whichever is later, through a one (1) year period.(renewable) Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Cheryl Lewis at Cheryl.Lewis@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM on March 21, 2023. The Commonwealth will make the award(s) on a Grand Total basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The purchasing office reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. The Commonwealth also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its best interest.
