The Warwick Police Department is seeking bids for the installation of acoustic wall and ceiling panels in Detective interview room #1. The specifications are outlined below. 1. The interview room is situated on the second floor of the police department. It is equipped with two (2) doors, has a suspended ceiling consisting of2 foot by 2 foot tiles and a carpeted floor. The room measures approximately 13 and a half feet by 9 and a half feet. The height from the floor to the suspended ceiling tiles measures 8 feet. The walls are constructed of cinder block which run from the floor up to the ceiling/ roof above the drop ceiling. One wall has lauan plywood covering what was formerly a two-way mirror. 2. Installation: a. Acoustic wall panels shall cover the walls for noise mitigation. b. Acoustic material shall either replace the ceiling tiles, be adhered to existing ceiling tiles or be added to the space above the ceiling tiles for noise mitigation. c. Acoustic material and panels shall have an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficiency) value of 1 and shall be Class A fire safety rated. d. The area of the former two way mirror is covered by lauan which is approximately 51 by 76 inches. This bid requires the removal and replacement of existing screws so that sound dampening material may be applied behind the lauan. The intent is to mitigate sound in this area prior to the installation of acoustic wall panels over the existing lauan. e. The two doors will require the installation of weather stripping in addition to a door sweep aimed to mitigate noise transmission from adjacent areas. f. There are three (3) existing electrical outlets in the room along with one (1) light switch which need to remain accessible. This bid shall include bringing the existing outlets and light switch to the depth of the installed acoustic wall panels. g.
