Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Alsea, Oregon. Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
This project includes survey, design, construction and construction administration for a new bridge. The Hayden Covered Bridge was constructed in 1918 and in 1979 the bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2017, analysis determined the bridge could not be strengthened to the legal load limit, so a new bridge is proposed. The covered bridge will be saved for pedestrian use. This project meets the 2040 Thriving Communities Initiative by addressing Community Resilience and Diverse Economy that Fits. Fiscal Year: 2021-2023 As of August 23, 2024, the project is in design phase, construction expected in 2026.
